The Wren School, 61-63 Bath Road, Reading, RG30 2BB Map

N.B. THIS IS AN IN-PERSON MEETING

subject to our Coronavirus risk assessment in place at this date

IT STARTS AT 7PM

Light refreshments are provided.  No printed handouts will be circulated, but a guest wifi network will be available.

All governors are encouraged to attend, regardless of level of experience.  Whilst this network is primarily aimed at governors with specific responsibility for safeguarding (including H&S and wellbeing), the expectation is that all governors are ultimately accountable for safeguarding children in their schools.

Confirmed speaker:

Fiona Hostler, Safeguarding and Children Missing Education (CME) Officer from Brighter Futures for Children will report on the results of the annual Safeguarding Audit: what have we learned, and what are the recommendations for improving future practice in Reading?

Fiona will give advice on this and any other concerns you have regarding safeguarding.

We will also be discussing the particular challenges arising in schools regarding refugee children, and share any successful outcomes.

Network discussions are formed around national and local issues.

Details: Meet with colleagues across wider Reading to discuss the latest challenges we are facing, whether common to us all, or specific to your setting.  Share and evolve best practice together, and develop collaborative relationships with your neighbours.

Outcomes: Governance knowledge and practice is strengthened across local governing boards.

Audience: All governors, but especially safeguarding governors, H&S governors and wellbeing governors.

This event will take place at The Wren School.

Places can be booked below. Attendance is free for member schools, and £50 per school to all non-members (this becomes your annual membership fee, and all subsequent attendance will then be free).  Please note that attendance at this event counts as Governor Training/Professional Development and should be added to your school’s training records.
