Bringing Reading Schools Closer Together

Update from Dame Kate Dethridge, Regional Director, South East Regions Group

Members may recall that Dame Kate spoke to the RGA at our Winter Conference last year on academisation.  The clear message from the White Paper earlier this year is that academisation is a priority for this government, and despite the recent volatility in the Department for Education, there is no indication that this principle has changed.

On Thursday 8th December, the RGA’s 2022 Winter Conference will hear from the NGA, RBC, BFfC and the RPHA on the perceived impact on schools from a national, local and individual school level.  Dame Kate’s presentation to the RPHA (Reading Primary Headteachers’ Association) last week underscored the current situation in Reading and outlined the direction of travel.  Sarah Pengelly, Chair of the RPHA, will be speaking at our conference, and will be available to take your questions on this discussion.

All are welcome to join us; governors, clerks and SLT.  Please book your place here.
