Our inaugural meeting of all Chairs, Vice-Chairs and Clerks will be held on Thursday, 12th September at The Wren School, starting at 7pm and finishing by 8:30pm. Led by Julia Cottee, topics to be covered are listed below, but time will also be reserved for attendees to raise their own issues for discussion and advice.
OFSTED
Governors from Caversham Primary and The Willink schools will share their experiences of recent ‘trial’ inspections from Ofsted using the September 2019 framework.  If you are expecting a visit imminently, this is an unmissable opportunity to be sufficiently prepared, as the new approach is notably different from previous years.
SELF EVALUATION
Governing boards of maintained schools have recently been asked to complete this Self Evaluation Form for BFfC by 30th September.  How does your governing board current perform self-evaluations?  Please bring along your latest version to share with other governors.
3-5 YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN
What does your school’s longer-term strategic plan include? Â What contribution do governors make to the process? Â What value does the process bring? Â At the request of one of our member schools, please bring along any examples of multi-year plans to share and discuss.
